Where it's ok to be a dirty dog
Do I need to bring anything to the Dharma Dog Wash?
All you need is a dirty dog! We supply everything else - tubs, towels, shampoos, waterproof aprons and grooming tools. We also make conditioners, canine cologne, and special dog hair dryers available.

Do I need an appointment?
No appointments are necessary for self-service washing. Visit anytime during our open hours. However, we are happy to make appointments to better accommodate dogs with special grooming needs (shy or aggressive pets). We also ask that owners work with us to schedule a special appointment for those lucky dogs who have gotten "skunked."

Do I have to wash my own dog or can you do it?
You wash your own dog, but a staffer is always available to offer assistance. We are also happy to provide seniors with assistance in the dog wash area, as requested. We will do everything possible to ensure both you and your dog feel comfortable and safe.

Do you cut nails?
Yes, we offer nail cutting service for $7.

Is Dharma Dog clean?
We work extremely hard (and continuously) to keep Dharma Dog clean and inviting. We clean our tubs and drying tables after each use. Safety mats surround our tubs, and we frequently mop our floors. Finally, we strive to keep our shop free of hair by vacuuming, as time allows.

Are children allowed?
Yes! Dharma Dog offers a lively, fun and family-friendly environment. Very small children must be closely monitored by a parent or guardian at all times, and children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Can my dog and I wait for an available tub?
Dharma Dog provides a convenient lounge area, aka “The Dog Pen,” where you and your canine friend can rest in comfort. Also, feel free to explore our fantastic retail section. However, DHARMA DOG MUST STRICTLY PROHIBIT ALL CUSTOMERS FROM LOITERING WITH, OR EXERCISING ANIMALS OUTSIDE OF OUR STORE OR IN THE GENERAL SHOPPING PLAZA.

What the heck does “Dharma” mean anyway?
Glad you asked! Loosely speaking, “Dharma” is a Buddhist term that can mean a code of proper conduct conforming to one's duty and nature or living in accordance with divine will. Some say the highest Dharma is to recognize the Truth in one's own heart. We like to think that we’re helping our furry friends live more balanced, happier lives – to become true Dharma Dogs and Karma Cats.
